Candela’s GentleMax Pro laser hair removal combines two types of the most advanced lasers in a multiple-wavelength system that produces impressive results for both men and women, faster than other methods. The GentleMax Pro can be used on many parts of the body and for all skin types. It is both safe and effective, improving on laser technology that has been used for many years for several different types of medical and cosmetic procedures.
HOW DOES GENTLEMAX PRO LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
A small hand-held device delivers laser energy – an intense, highly
targeted light beam – to the skin, where it is absorbed and converted
to heat. The targeted cells absorb the heat, but surrounding tissue is
not affected. Some patients experience slight redness of the skin following
the procedure, which may last a few minutes or up to several hours.
The length of time required for the procedure depends on your aesthetic goals. In most cases, multiple treatments are necessary, although hair growth diminishes after each treatment. The type and color of your hair, your skin tone and the body area being treated all affect the number of treatments needed.
IS IT PAINFUL?
Candela’s GentleMax Pro system maximizes patient comfort using a patented device and split-second two-step process that sprays the upper layer of skin with a quick burst of cooling cryogen before the laser pulse.
PRE-PROCEDURE PRECAUTIONS
Patients are usually asked to avoid exposure to the sun for at least two weeks prior to treatment and to wait until tanned skin fades before undergoing treatment. Patients should also avoid waxing, plucking or bleaching hair from 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatment.
Candela GentleMax Pro treatments are available through Chic la Vie MedSpa at Smith Plastic Surgery.
